Domestic machine tools are in hot demand both at home and abroad, and CNC machine tools are gaining momentum

In recent years, with the rapid and stable development of the national economy, the revitalization of the equipment manufacturing industry, and the increasing demand for technological upgrading of the entire manufacturing industry and modernization of national defense, driven by the rapid growth of fixed asset investment, my country's machine tool market has shown a trend of strong production and demand. The production of CNC machine tools, which represents the advanced level of the equipment manufacturing industry, has taken advantage of the situation and is like flying high.
1. Domestic machine tools are popular both at home and abroad
According to the China Machine Tool Industry Association, since the "15th Five-Year Plan", my country's machine tool consumption has set records. The total machine tool consumption (domestic product sales output value + import value - export value) and import value in the mainland market have ranked first in the world for five consecutive years, making it a major machine tool consumer that has attracted global attention. According to statistics, in 2006, the machine tool consumption in the Chinese mainland market reached 13.11 billion US dollars, an increase of about 20% year-on-year; machine tool imports reached 7.24 billion US dollars, an increase of 11.55% year-on-year, an increase of 1.7 percentage points over the same period last year. In this regard, Wu Bolin, Secretary General of the China Machine Tool Industry Association, said that China's machine tool consumption accounts for more than 20% of the total global machine tool sales, which is difficult to match in any country in the world (Japan, which ranks second, third and fourth in the world in machine tool consumption, accounts for about 15%, the United States accounts for about 11.6%, and Germany accounts for about 10.6%). This provides a rare market opportunity for the development of the machine tool industry.
Driven by strong market demand, the domestic machine tool industry has seen a booming production and sales. Its total industrial output value and sales revenue increased by 27.1% and 26.4% respectively in 2006, based on the growth rate of more than 20% for five consecutive years, an increase of 2.3 and 0.9 percentage points higher than the same period last year. Among them, the sales output value of domestic metal processing machine tools (including metal cutting machine tools and metal forming machine tools) has risen to the third place in the world since 2005, reaching 55.2 billion yuan (7.06 billion US dollars) in 2006. Domestic machine tools have regained the favor of domestic users due to the improvement of their technical level, and their domestic market share has risen to 44.8%, an increase of 5.1 percentage points over the same period last year. At the same time, the export value of my country's machine tools in 2006 also reached 1.19 billion US dollars, an increase of 44.56% year-on-year. Domestic machine tools are popular in both domestic and foreign markets.
2. CNC machine tools take advantage of the situation
In recent years, my country's machine tool manufacturing industry has benefited from the national revitalization of the equipment manufacturing industry and has made great progress. Among them, the CNC machine tool industry, which is ahead of the current machine tool manufacturing technology level, is even better.
The level, variety and production capacity of CNC machine tools reflect the country's comprehensive national strength in technology and economy. As strategic equipment for national defense and military industry, CNC machine tools are the most important manufacturing means for various weapons and equipment, and are an important guarantee for the modernization of national defense and military equipment. However, revitalizing the CNC machine tool industry is difficult for the machine tool industry. According to experts, the digital manufacturing technology required for the development of CNC machine tools is the core of advanced manufacturing and the key to achieving independent innovation. Therefore, for the entire industry, revitalizing the CNC machine tool industry is both a strategic opportunity and a severe challenge.
At present, the leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council pays great attention to the work of revitalizing the equipment manufacturing industry. The "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" has made the revitalization of the equipment manufacturing industry a major content to promote the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure, and CNC machine tools have become one of the key points of revitalizing the equipment manufacturing industry. In 2006, the State Council successively issued the "Outline of the National Medium- and Long-Term Science and Technology Development Plan (2006-2020)" and the "Several Opinions of the State Council on Accelerating the Revitalization of the Equipment Manufacturing Industry", and the 16 major projects identified all listed "developing large-scale, precise, high-speed CNC equipment and CNC systems and functional components" as key areas of support and development.
